Hi, I'm Susie, flower farmer, animal lover and general nature enthusiast.
I'm outside most days, rain or shine, planting, prepping and pottering about in the garden. I trained at the Royal Horticultural Society in London and worked as head gardener on two estates in Kent before coming home to start my own little flower farm here in Constantia.
I'm a fan of all things green and botanical, and I love nothing more than nudging other people to find their own joy in flowers, whether that's growing a small cut flower patch of your own, or learning to design and play with blooms as a creative outlet. That's the spirit behind my seasonal workshops. And if picking is more your thing than planting, do come along to one of our Pick Your Own mornings. They're a lovely, relaxed way to spend a morning on the farm.
My heart belongs to the old-fashioned varieties. Dahlias, sweet peas, ranunculus, scabiosa, zinnias, cosmos and Queen Anne's lace are a few favourites. I grow them for the workshops, for gifting to friends, and for the simple pleasure of bringing an armful inside and arranging them on the kitchen table. There's something quietly grounding about it, and I think the world could do with a bit more of that.
When I'm not in the garden or the studio, you'll find me at home with my family, or curled up by the fire with a good book and our myriad of pets.
